A classic bubble shooter game in your browser
This version of Bubble Shooter is one continuous game. Coloured bubbles line the top of the board, and you shoot new ones from below. Match bubbles of the same colour and keep them from reaching the bottom. When you clear the board, new rows appear and you carry on with the same score. There are no separate levels, so you can focus on your next match and your personal best.
There's no timer. New rows appear when you use up your allowed misses. Find the angle you want and take as long as you need to think through each shot.
How to play Bubble Shooter
- Match
Match three of the same colour
Shoot a bubble towards two or more touching bubbles of the same colour. The matching group pops and earns you points.
10 points per bubble - Bounce
Find the right angle
Bounce a shot off a side wall to reach a group higher up. You can see the next bubble before you shoot, so you can plan a couple of moves ahead.
Go around an obstacle - Drop
Remove the support
Bubbles fall when your shot cuts off their connection to the top of the board. These drops earn more points than ordinary matches.
20 points per dropped bubble
Aim with your mouse, then release the button to shoot. On a phone, drag your finger across the board and release. With a keyboard, press Tab to focus the board, use the arrow keys to aim and press Space to shoot. The Bubble Shooter rules and tutorial explain the controls and how points are scored.
Choose your difficulty: Beginner to Expert
Start on Beginner for fewer colours and more allowed misses. Intermediate and Expert start with more colours and rows, and give you fewer misses before adding new rows. There's no timer, even on the hardest mode.
| Mode | Colours | Rows | Misses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 4 | 6 | 6 |
| Intermediate | 5 | 7 | 4 |
| Expert | 6 | 8 | 3 |
Any shot that fails to remove a group counts as a miss. Once you use up your allowed misses, new rows are added at the top. Successful shots don't use up a miss, but they don't restore any either. Remove every bubble of one colour and that colour temporarily stops appearing in new rows. The next batch adds two rows instead of one. Eliminate another colour and it adds three.
Points, board clears and high scores
Each bubble you pop earns 10 points. A bubble that falls earns 20. Clearing the entire board adds a 500-point bonus and starts a new cycle within the same game. The starting rows and all colours you've unlocked return. On Beginner and Intermediate, the palette gradually grows to six colours, making familiar matches harder to find. Expert uses all six from the start. The game ends when bubbles reach the bottom boundary.
On a large screen, a new game uses a wide board with 17 bubbles in its longer rows. Smaller screens use a board with 10. The grid stays the same until the game ends. High scores are grouped by difficulty, and achievements reward both great individual shots and progress through a long game.
How to score more points in Bubble Shooter
Before you shoot, look for bubbles holding up a large group. Check the next colour and how many misses you have left. Sometimes a safe match is worth more than a risky wall bounce. Eliminating a whole colour makes matches easier to find, but the board fills up faster. Try to turn that advantage into a full board clear.
